#HallofFame | National Book Awards 2015 Longlist
The National Book Award is a prestigious "American literary prize administered by the National Book Foundation, a nonprofit organization." Previous winners include literary luminaries Flannery O'Connor, Saul Bellow, Alice Walker, and more.
The National Book Foundation recently released their longlist of nominees and 60% of the nominated books were written by women!
At GenderAvenger, we spent this summer tackling "must read" book lists by Esquire and Modern Library that barely included women authors. It's wonderful to see a Hall of Fame gender balance in the list of nominees for one of the most respected literary prizes.
Show @nationalbook some love.
