Avengers of the Week | Ace of Cups

The Bangles, the Go-Go’s, Bananarama — where would they all be if not for these groovy chicks? Ace of Cups, the first all-girl band of its kind, found fame during the 1960s in the Haight-Ashbury scene, even opening for Jimmy Hendrix, but, we’re guessing you’ve never heard of them! They were almost entirely erased from history because they never recorded an album, but Ace of Cups is righting that wrong by doing just that. They have gotten back together after fiftyish years and are recording their first album together, which will include songs from their heyday and newly written material. For never giving up on their dream, they’re our Avengers of the Week.
