Did you know that fewer than 1 in 10 truck drivers are women? Clarissa Rankin, viral TikToker and big rig driver is working on changing that. What started as a way to pay off student loans became a full-time gig within a year, and now Clarissa takes to TikTok to share truck driving tips with women aspiring to drive.

Clarissa’s journey as a truck driver had a bumpy start - she was turned down for 6 different positions, and was even told that she could be an assistant but not a driver, before getting her break and being hired by a woman-run company. Within a few short years of driving and logging the life of a woman driver on social media, Clarissa’s blunt humor and genuine spirit captivated millions of viewers on TikTok. 90% of truck drivers are men, but Clarissa’s viral videos normalize the presence of women in this male-dominated industry

 With her bedazzled truck ‘Sparkle’, this journey has yet to hit a red light, and Clarissa’s dream is to be the first trucker to start a makeup line. She hopes to one day see her line available at every truck stop, ready to be used by women drivers just like her. Clarissa is sure to let it be known that, “I’m not just a trucker, I’m a woman”.
