After constant excuses about terrible gender balance at last year's CES from its organizer, Consumer Technology Association, we’ve been following their speaker announcements closely. So far, the list may look impressive regarding gender diversity, but as they slowly roll out speaker announcements we’re still skeptical about their final numbers.

So when Fast Company writer Sean Captain posed the question “will a workaround to get more women on the keynote stage appease critics?”, he turned to GenderAvenger founder Gina Glantz for the answer.

If they’re trying to get important people who are provocative and interesting and diverse, maybe the model that you must be a CEO that’s announcing something is the wrong criteria.
