#HallOfShame | Institute for New Economic Thinking
The Institute for New Economic Thinking was "created to broaden and accelerate the development of new economic thinking that can lead to solutions." Their Twitter bio promises that they're "inspiring the economics profession to engage the vital social and economic challenges of the 21st century."
An advisory board with just 6% women doesn't sound "inspiring" or "new." Gender diversity is a critical part of the cultivation of new and innovative ideas. How can you support new thinking when your leadership barely includes women?
Unfortunately, the lack of gender diversity at the Institute for New Economic Thinking isn't limited to their Advisory Board.
- Their Governing Board includes 13 members, and they're all men.
- The 16 person Global Partners Council includes just one woman.
- Their Academic Council is another all male lineup.
Out of these four Boards and Councils, the Advisory Board has the most female representation at a measly 6%.
