#HallofShame | 27% Women Chefs at the New York Times' Taste of T

The Taste of T, a celebration of food and design hosted by The New York Times Style section, is "a glorious showcase of the luxury life — bringing together thousands of food and wine aficionados to sample creations by some of the country’s most awarded chefs, restaurateurs and culinary personalities."

The Taste of T has plenty of food, wine, and design. Unfortunately, it also features a noticeable lack of women. Out of 26 Participating Chefs, only seven are women. That's a Hall of Shame gender ratio of just 27% women chefs.

This is the New York Times' third appearance in the GA Hall of Shame. The Taste of T 2015 is on November 5th. Lets show The New York Times that we're paying attention and that it's time to value the voices of women chefs and prioritize adding women to event lineups.

Take Action.

I was disappointed to see that the Taste of T this year only included 27% women chefs. If you had a gender balanced lineup of chefs, you could have created a more vibrant and inclusive event with a broader array of voices. Please prioritize including women chefs in future food events and create the dynamic and gender balanced lineup that we know you are capable of creating.
