#HallofFame | Amazon's 100 Best Books of 2015 Lists
Amazon.com is kicking off the season for end of the year lists with two Hall of Fame gender ratios!
Amazon recently compiled a list of the Top 100 Print Books for 2015 and the Top 100 Kindle Books for 2015. 51% of the top 100 print books and 50% of the top 100 Kindle books were written by women. Amazon also awarded the 2015 Book of the Year to Lauren Groff's Fates and Furies.
As Avenger Victoria Chao points out, appearances on these kind of lists can be crucial for women authors and offers them the exposure that can lead to speaking opportunities, awards, and more list coverage for their books:
Appearing at conferences or on a "Best of" list makes it easier to get invited to other conferences, panels, and lists.
If you've ever had to line up guests for media interviews and public events, you know that a record of prior appearances on lists or decently respectable conferences can go a long way in legitimizing consideration for a spot on stage.
This is the second "Best of 2015" list to appear on GenderAvenger, and both have qualified for the GenderAvenger Hall of Fame. Could this be the year for gender balanced "Best of" lists? Stay tuned.

I was glad to see that both of the Amazon Top 100 Book Lists had balanced gender ratios. The list of the Top 100 Kindle Books for 2015 featured 50% books by women authors, while the list of the Top 100 Print Books for 2015 included 51% women authors. Thank you for valuing the voices of women writers and keep up the good work! Both of these lists were recently celebrated in the GenderAvenger Hall of Fame: http://www.genderavenger.com/blog/halloffame-amazons-best-books-of-2015
