#HallOfFame | 51% Women at #AWP16

Welcome to the Super Hall of Fame, AWP! The AWP Conference, hosted by the Association of Writers & Writing Programs, is one of the biggest conferences for writers and publishers in the US. For the second year in a row, they have a Hall of Fame gender ratio among their Featured Readers.

Kudos, AWP! When we see a balanced gender ratio, we want to promote it and show that it is possible. Sharing Hall of Famers is a way of sharing proof that conferences are capable of creating balanced gender ratios. It’s a perfect response to tired excuses for poor gender ratios, and it’s an inspiration for organizers. If AWP can create a gender-balanced lineup two years in a row, everyone can.
