Women seize the screen at GlobeDocs festival”:

From the #MeToo movement to outrage over the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, women have seized the political and cultural moment. The films in this year’s GlobeDocs Film Festival (Oct. 9-14) reflect this phenomenon. 

Of the 15 features and six shorts being screened, an overwhelming majority are by women. “We are both proud and honored to have over 70 percent of the films in the festival directed by women filmmakers,” says director of programming Lisa Viola. “The stories they present are fascinating and of the moment.”
