“Gender Bias From A Woman In Science”:
My biggest fear in writing about gender bias (in my first ever blog post) is that it will negatively affect how my scientific research program is viewed, and harm me professionally. I am not as brave as many of my heroes.
Yet, as I start a new job in a new community, I feel a responsibility to open up a dialogue about this polarizing and nuanced topic. I hope this blog will spark open, respectful, educational, and productive conversations that lead to mutual understanding and enlightenment.
