Castle Rock and Eighth Grade star Elsie Fisher has a bone to pick with the recently announced 2020 Oscar nominations.
After the nominees were announced on Monday morning, it became clear the folks who were nominated were overwhelmingly white and, in non-gendered categories, very male. So, Elsie took it upon herself to create her own list of nominees that actually gets it right, and I am so glad this nominations list exists.
Elsie hopped on Twitter on Monday, announcing, "I’ve decided to start my own film awards because sometimes other ones suck, so here are the nominations for the first annual Elsie Awards." From there, the actress announced her own award-show nominees using categories included in the Oscars nominations list and ones she created on her own.
