Avengers of the Week | Featured Filmmakers at Human Rights Watch Film Festival

Just go to our website and search “film” and you’ll see the dozens of articles we’ve featured about the lack of women in leadership positions within the film industry, as well as the women who are blazing their own trails and making their names known. Now we can add to that list the 13 women directors of 12 of the 15 films being shown at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in New York this week. It’s truly inspiring to see so many women at the helm, making films about other brave women (and men!) who are fighting for change in their own way.

In addition to being our Avengers of the Week, we’re thrilled to award the Human Rights Watch Film Festival a GA Gold Stamp of Approval for their filmmaker lineup of 68% women, 54% of whom are women of color. Congratulations!
