Peppermint in Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race

Peppermint is an actress, singer, songwriter, television personality, drag queen, and activist. In 2018, Peppermint became the first trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway. Before her Broadway debut, she had already made history as the first trans contestant who was out prior to airing on RuPaul’s Drag Race, which lead to conversations that encouraged the queer community to view drag as an artistic expression not exclusive to cisgender men. Of her groundbreaking performance on Broadway, Peppermint told Playbill, “As drag performers and trans women, it’s in our bloodline — our drag ancestry — to march on the front lines.”
