Action Alert | Naughty & Nice: A Tale of 2 Lists

If you’re making a list, you can bet that GenderAvenger is checking it twice! In the case of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, we’ve checked it 3 times! GenderAvenger has been tracking this list since 2019, and we’re pleased to see it’s been making steady progress toward gender equality each year. Check out these numbers:

See? Steady improvement. This year’s list even qualifies for a Gold GA Stamp of Approval. Keep up the good work, Forbes, and you’ll be on the nice list for sure!

We wish we could say the same for Toronto Life’s 50 Most Influential Torontonians of 2020. Only 25% of the people named on this list are women, and we find it really hard to believe that 75% of Torontonians “whose bravery, smarts and clout are changing the world” are men. Time to step it up and do better, Toronto Life. Thank you to the ever-vigilant Deena Baikowitz for letting us know about this one.

‘Tis the season for “end of year” and “best of” lists, so keep your eye out for balance and imbalance and send the lists our way. It takes a village to keep list-makers and organizers on their best behavior!
