Action Alert | National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit 2021

GenderAvenger has been keeping tabs on the annual National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit since 2017. Touted as the “the nation’s premier bipartisan gathering of state legislatures”, the 2021 event will bring together legislative staff to learn from policy experts. Past events have gotten off to a rocky start when it comes to gender representation of speakers, from Dolly Parton being the sole woman in event marketing materials in 2019 to a mainstage manel in 2017. 

We’re pleased to announce that the 2021 lineup is just shy of a GA Stamp of Approval with 6 men and 5 women, of which 2 are women of color. Let’s hope this trend continues and that the 2022 event earns a GA Stamp!
