📣🚨 Action Alert | MoneyShow Manels = A Wall of Mostly White Men. This Can't Continue.

You know that expression “a picture is worth a thousand words”? What about a picture of 37 men, most of them white, all in a neat little box? How many words is THAT worth? Really, there are NO words for this monstrosity of a manel, and MoneyShow should be ashamed of itself.

This is the list of speakers for the upcoming MoneyShow Virtual Expo. What’s baffling about it (other than where the women are, or are not in this case) is that the leadership team of MoneyShow has fantastic gender balance — 5 women, 1 of whom is a woman of color, and 3 men. Huh?

There is opportunity for improvement, though. MoneyShow is hosting several virtual expos through the end of this year, and, while there are some women on those speaker lists, there are not enough: women only make up 15% of the upcoming speakers, and none are women of color.

Along with GenderAvengers like Cindy Gallop, we’ll be watching to see if the balance improves and keep you posted either way.
