📣🚨 Action Alert | A GenderAvenger Used the GA Tally App for the Down East Spring Birding Fest. Help Them Get the Word Out.

We love when we see the GA Tally being used out in the wild, or for the wild, in this case. GenderAvenger Jane Everstadt shared a tally she created of the 2021 Down East Spring Birding Fest presenters, and it’s seriously lacking women.

At the time of her count, there were 6 men and 2 women (none of whom are women of color) listed as presenters. More recently, at our last count, there were 7 men and 2 women listed, which means the numbers are moving in the wrong direction! The Birding Fest is not taking place until late May, so there is still plenty of time for the Cobbscook Institute to add more women as presenters. Bird watchers and GenderAvengers alike will be watching to see if that happens.
