This week, our Action Alert is full of accolades for gender-balanced events that the GenderAvenger community brought to our attention.

The Comparative & International Education Society (CIES) Annual Meeting (April 25–May 2, 2021) earns two Gold GA Stamps of Approval, one for its keynote speakers list and another for its featured speakers list. Both lists are made up of over 50% women, over 50% of whom are women of color. Kristy Kelly, chair of the Gender and Education Committee for this event states, β€œ...we have been auditing the annual conference and Society since 1989. We have noted marked improvement over the years, and this year the conference looks to be worthy of acknowledging their efforts to diversify keynotes, panels, highlighted sessions and other events representing the Society's global membership.” We completely agree and congratulate CIES on their two Gold GA Stamps of Approval.

The American Climate Leadership Summit (April 27-29, 2021) has earned a GA Stamp of Approval for the third year in a row. This year it’s a Silver β€” the speaker list is 70% women, 44% of whom are women of color β€” and we congratulate them on their continued commitment to including women’s voices. Thank you to Jennifer Giordano from ecoAmerica for submitting this event.

Thank you to all the GenderAvengers who let us know about these events. Were you invited to or are you attending a conference, meeting, or summit with great gender balance? Why not join this group of GenderAvengers and nominate them for a GA Stamp of Approval?

Join us in congratulating them!

Congratulations to @cies_us and @ecoAmerica, who were both nominated for GA Stamps of Approval by members of the @GenderAvenger community for having gender-balanced speaker lineups. #GenderAvenger #CIES2021 #ACLS2021 https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/action-alert-community-gives-credit-where-credit-is-due
