π£π¨ ACT NOW | Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival Lineup Falls Short Again
In 2018, the Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) lineup left us hungry for more women on its panels, on stage, and in workshops. Sadly, the famine continues in 2019. We counted the lineup of hundreds of fan-favorite food celebrities and restaurateurs only to find that 73% of them are men and just 27% are women. The Food Network and Cooking Channel are food industry powerhouses who are missing a huge opportunity to create change in the industry by showcasing women chefs and restaurateurs rather than treating them like yesterdayβs leftovers.
π£π¨ The @FoodNetwork and @CookingChannel are food industry powerhouses who should set the standard with a gender equal @NYCWFF talent lineup β instead itβs only 27% women. This must change in 2020. #NYCWFF #GenderAvenger https://www.genderavenger.com/blog/act-now-food-network-cooking-channel-nycwff
